How to become productive when building your home based business?
Hello Network Marketing Pros, I would like to share my thoughts and tips on a subject how to increase your productivity running your home based business. The reason is simple; I have found extremely challenging to be productive when I started. I spend long hours on a daily basis with activities that were not gave me too much results, so I had to figure out how to become productive.
Let’s jump into today’s topic: how to increase you productivity?
Plan your day the day before.
I usually do this before I go to bed, so I close my day knowing with CLARITY what I will do the next day. I found this habit very effective and easy to get used to.
I decide what time to get up, I follow a morning routine including using affirmations (I actually use affirmations first time in the day right after I open my eyes and second time just before I fall asleep, detox, 1/2 l of water, yoga (15-20 min), nutrition, breakfast. I am prepared if I have an appointment booked, a meeting, a webinar, tennis, team conference) and I make the day around these priorities.
I make a list and I mark which ones are the highest priority (using the swallow the frog technique:) ), what are the basic daily routines, what are the profit making activities, and finally what are the tasks that would be great to finish or get done.
Drink 2.5 – 3.5 litre of spring (or filtered) water is essential.
I use the most effective and highest quality portable water filtration system, and I also recommend it to my friends and family.
Afternoon starts with writing down goals.
That includes WHY I am doing this? Why do I not just go on the Playstation and drive around in Monaco with an R8 for example, watching a TV series or even just go to the pub with my friends and drink beer, watching football? I know where I am going, what I want to achieve, and what I need to do to make that all happen.
Do exercise every day
Yes, sometimes I run to the gym 3 times a week, but sometimes (as in the last couple of weeks) I just make sure I do 10-15 minutes abs, push ups, then I have my GMO FREE meal replacement shake. Love this habit, really effective, a boost for me, and you know why? Because after I finish I am thankful for my discipline. I usually do this 5-6 times a week.
I read before (or listen to) my daily affirmations.
I start with 5-7 minutes reading only (the reason is after I read 2-3 pages I fall asleep. It has started to decrease, now I read 8-12 minutes. Still not too much but hey, it is increasing.
Are you sitting for most of the day?
The enzyme, lipoprotein lipase (LPL), breaks down fat in the bloodstream and turns it into energy. When people are sitting, it is likely that LPL levels drop and this causes fat cells to build up.
If you spend more than 8-10 hours at a desk and without moving around much, then you will notice that you have less energy. Productivity is not measured by the number of hours you sit at a desk. It is measured by how much you get done without sacrificing your health.
One of the major reasons for obesity in the last 20 years is because of decreased levels of daily physical activities. Take a break and go for a daily walk.
Weed out distractions
I know a few people that have a Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn, YouTube, Instagram, Hootsuite, Tumblr, Foursquare, Shutterfly, Pinterest, Google Chat, Reddit, and StumbleUpon account. When they are not using these social media tools, they may be checking their e-mail on their smartphones or reading random facts on Wikipedia every 5 minutes. Disconnect!
I turn off my wifi on my phone or simply switch off the handset. I feel it is highly important to sleep 8 hours (ideally 10pm – 6am). I recently finished a course about health and nutrition, and I understand how important it is to sleep well and get enough hours. I also learnt that sleeping is more important than exercise for weight loss (believe it or not)!
